Jump rings are used in all kinds of jewelry, and they can serve a variety of purposes. But if you're having trouble with one or more of the jump rings in a piece, our experts can repair or replace them for you and return your piece to you in like-new condition. We work on jewelry in all styles and all types of metals, and we bring many years of experience in fine custom jewelry to every job we take on.
To ensure that your piece gets the best possible care and attention, we make sure to take all unique aspects of each item into account in every repair job we take on. However, any time we're repairing or replacing jump rings, there is a general outline of steps we follow to diagnose and fix the problem.
• The first thing we do for all jump ring replacement jobs is to inspect the entire piece to make sure there are no additional problem areas.
• Next, we'll close the loop tight by bringing both ends together.
• Once that's done, we use a laser to solder the loop shut permanently.
• Finally, we'll refinish and polish the piece.
We can replace jump rings in all colors and made from any type of metal. No matter what your piece is made of or how it's finished, we'll identify the exact match and then use that to complete the repair. The result is a piece of jewelry that will look and feel exactly as it did the day you bought it.
The laser technology we use to fuse the ends of a new jump ring together enables us to work with extreme precision. That means we can repair or replace jump rings no matter where they are on your piece without damaging or endangering any other elements present.
Having the ends of your jump rings soldered together helps ensure that it won't fall off unexpectedly, reducing the likelihood of loss or damage. Especially if you wear a piece frequently, it's important that all jump ring connections be secure, so as soon as you notice a possible issue, it's a good idea to bring it to us for repair or replacement.
Once we've repaired all connections and ensured the security of your piece, we'll put on the finishing touches to make your ring like new. This includes applying texture or polish as needed so that there's no apparent difference between the original and replacement pieces.
Kelly M. - Woodinville, WA - July 2016 - YelpAfter my mom passed away a few months ago, I inherited the diamond from her engagement ring. It is a beautiful old stone that has been in our family for generations. It is very sentimental, and I knew wanted to make a custom ring so I could wear it. My first attempt with a custom jeweler many years ago had been terrible, so I painstakingly researched custom jewelers and decided to call Joseph Jewelry (which conveniently, is only about 20 minutes from where I live). From my very first conversation with Andrea, I knew I was in great hands. I stopped by the store a few days after this initial conversation and I was able meet Andrea and show her images of the design I had in mind. (I'll just add that Andrea was able to get me a quote for the ring that day, which was very competitive. It took another jeweler almost two weeks to provide me with a quote for the same project.) Before I had even gotten home, I had a message from Bonnie, my amazing designer, saying she was looking forward to working with me on the ring. Within days, Bonnie had created a 3D proof. She patiently worked with me as I made little tweaks to get the design just the way I wanted. Following my approval of the proofs and before the ring was cast, I was able to see the ring in wax form (a step I absolutely loved). While Bonnie worked with me on the design, Andrea did a stellar job finding matching diamonds to compliment my stone. We went through a few different ideas with these diamonds (from size to color). At one point, Andrea and Bonnie had me come in to the store to look a few options. We set various sized/colored diamonds in my mold to see how they looked together, took them outside to see how looked in natural light... Bottom line, Andrea and Bonnie did everything they could to make sure this ring was absolutely perfect and exactly what I wanted. They knew it was a very special and important piece of jewelry they were helping me to create, and I'm sure they treat all of their customer's projects the same way. Once my ring was finished, I had the pleasure of working with Mike to ship the ring from Washington state to New Jersey (it had always been our plan to do this). I have to admit, I was nervous shipping my brand new diamond ring across the country, but the process was flawless. The ring shipped UPS 2-day, and I picked it up at the UPS Customer Center that Mike kindly helped me find. My experience with Joseph Jewelry was really quite exceptional! Their customer service is up there with the best I have ever experienced. And my new ring is everything I could have hoped for. I absolutely love it, and I know my mom would have, too. I have a few more custom jewelers projects I would like to do, and I can't wait to work with the team at Joseph Jewelry again in the near future.
