At Joseph Jewelry, we have a laser to engrave text and designs on rings and other metal pieces. We can engrave almost any design you’d like, keeping in mind the size of the object to be engraved.

How does laser engraving work?
Our laser engraver is much more precise than a traditional diamond-tipped jewelry engraver. We can engrave 100% accurate designs of different sizes, down to extremely small details that no other engraver can accomplish. We’re able to adjust the depth of the laser so that we can go heavier or lighter, as well.
To engrave a phrase, names, or date, we will send you a list of our fonts. You choose the font, send us exactly what you would like engraved, and we will do it. For the inside of a ring, it is usually best to stay around 15-20 characters in length.
For a more custom engraving, you can send us what you’d like engraved, and we may create a mock-up for you to approve before we execute engraving on the actual object. We will convert the image you send us into a file compatible with our machine, and then complete several passes over the design with the laser until it is deep enough and achieves the look the client wants.
What can be laser engraved?
In the past, some designs we have engraved are wedding dates, Bible passages, symbol patterns, names, quotes, animals, music notes, fingerprints, a handwritten message, and other symbols. We can engrave almost any design.
Some objects we can put the engraving on are rings, watches, bracelets, and various small metal objects. Many of our clients request an engraving inside of their custom rings made with us. One thing to keep in mind is the laser just barely cuts through the surface of the metal. For designs that are more than just letters and cover a wider area, you may want to request adding black antique painted in the engraving to allow the design to stand out more.
What is the difference between hand engraving and laser engraving?
Hand engraving is an art form and done by an artist with many years of experience. The designs created by hand are usually artful patterns unique to the piece, and sometimes reflecting old world style. These patterns require an artist because of the complex cuts and curves that take a skilled hand to execute. Joseph Jewelry offers this service, as well.
On the other hand, laser engraving is all about precision. The design that is put into our computer program is exactly what will be engraved. The laser can accurately engrave the tiniest symbols and words.

I have to say, I've read a lot of the review and I have to agree with the lot of them. Joseph's was a great place to work with. They kept in contact with us through the entire process and custom designed our engagement rings from scratch. Being that my partner and I work in different industries, we had different needs. He needed a flush mount without channels and I like the texture channels provide. He also wanted a "little" more ornamentation than I did. Joseph (the owner) showed us the lab and introduced us to the people on his team. After we had a general idea his designer Ryan set to work on a 3D rendering of each and we were quite pleased. The rings were then cast in a wax mold so that we could come in and try them on before having the metal cast with the stones. This step provided for a great likeness to the actual rings and we were convinced they were the ones we wanted. From start to finish it took about 4 weeks and they were even completed a few days ahead of when we needed them. All in all, the communication and thorough staff were the key. When in comes to jewelry, like many things, you get what you pay for. And with something I was going to wear for the rest of my life I was willing to pay the price. There were quite willing to work with us on metals, price and options on our budget. I would totally recommend them again.
