Bracelet

brace·let | ˈbrā-slət

noun

An ornamental band or chain worn around the wrist

Bracelets are popular pieces of ornamental jewelry that are worn around the wrist. In Western jewelry, bracelets are most commonly made from metals like gold or sterling silver. There are a variety of types of bracelets in the jewelry market, including bangle bracelets, chain bracelets, tennis bracelets which are commonly adorned with diamonds, cuff bracelets, and charm bracelets. In addition to being made of metal, bracelets can also be made of other elements including wood, leather, beads, or enamel. Most commonly worn by women, bracelets can be worn singularly or in groups. When multiple bracelets are worn on a wrist at once, the look may be referred to as “arm candy.” There are many ways that bracelets can be secured around the wrist, including through a series of different types of clasps. Bangle bracelets, however, are complete and continuously circular in shape and are slipped on over the hand and worn on the wrist.
