A wrist watch is a small watch worn on the wrist as a bracelet. While wrist watches are common today, they are a relatively new development in terms of jewelry and high end wrist watches are commonly made from precious or semi-precious metals, making them highly sought after. Especially elaborate wrist watches may also have gemstones worked into the bezel or the markers and there are several common brand names associated with the nicest and most elaborate watches on the market. The term “wrist watch” can encompass any number of other types of watches, however, including smart watches which have grown in popularity in recent years.
