There are several different shapes for the inside of the band of a ring. A flat band is one of the types of shapes that is available, and features squared edges and no dome on top of the ring. A flat band is similar to a square band, but does not have the rounded edges of a square band. Because of this, they are considered among the more comfortable ring shapes to wear and are far less likely to swivel on the finger, keeping them in place and reducing the risk of the ring being pulled off or falling off. A flat band can result in more difficulty removing the ring compared to other cuts, but is generally more comfortable resting on the finger.
